JOB SUMMARY AND KEY PRIORITIES: 

The Corporate & Strategic Partnerships Manager will work as a close collaborator with Active Minds’ Senior Director of Corporate & Strategic Partnerships to nurture, grow, and evolve our corporate and strategic partner portfolios.

This role will serve as a corporate relationship manager and project manager, able to effectively communicate with corporate stakeholders and internal colleagues, and successfully manage project execution – helping to strengthen relationships with partners and achieve operational excellence across partnerships. This position will also reinforce the organization’s culture and Antiracism and Inclusion efforts by helping to assess potential funders for partnership alignment.

The Corporate & Strategic Partnerships Manager reports to the Senior Director of Corporate & Strategic Partnerships, and will also closely collaborate with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and other staff across the Program and Marketing & Communications (MarComms) teams.

KEY RESULTS: 

Partner Relationship Management & Project Management (70%)

  • Steward and nurture a portfolio of corporate partners ranging from $25,000 – $100,000 that support the mission and values of Active Minds, including our antiracism and inclusion (ARI) commitments.
  • Support the Senior Director’s portfolio of $100,000 – $500,000 corporate partners as needed, as well as occasional support of the CDO and Executive Director’s partners.
  • Manage the project execution for organizational corporate partnerships, including the
    coordination of internal and external check-in meetings and tracking of partnership deliverables.
  • Work closely with the Program and MarComms teams to create partnership briefs, and
    coordinate a cross-departmental work plan to ensure the timely and successful execution of
    partnerships.
  • Initiate written updates and reports for key partners, working closely with the Program team to present both quantifiable and qualitative results.
  • Identify gaps in our partnerships workflow and help drive efficiencies and improvements,
    working with Program, Operations and MarComms teams to design and implement new
    processes.
  • Organize partner site visits and virtual conversations in conjunction with Leadership Team
    members.
  • Partner with Development Operations to ensure that partnership data is accurately collected and managed in Salesforce.

New Partner Acquisition (20%)

  • Support the Senior Director in drafting and executing partnership agreements, working closely with our legal counsel and external partners to review, revise, and align on contract terms.
  • Support the Senior Director to conceive, write, and edit fundraising proposals, and other written materials to support corporate giving and strategic partnership efforts as needed.
  • Generate new corporate leads by researching and identifying ideal partners for Active Minds.

Additional Responsibilities (10%)

  • Nurture broad-based ($2,500 – $24,999) corporate support
  • Support any early pilots in workplace giving as part of a more robust program, to complement our corporate partnership efforts.
  • Participate fully in Active Minds’ Anti-Racism and Inclusion efforts, including participating in internal committees and continuing personal growth and knowledge gaining.
  • Manage departmental intern.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU: 

  • Passion for collaborative partner engagement and stewardship with companies committed to our movement of changing the culture around mental health for young adults nationwide.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and provide clear written correspondence.
  • Strong relationship building and customer service skills, with the ability to set expectations and ensure ongoing information exchange with all stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks, with acute attention to detail.
  • Takes ownership and initiative, and also works well in a cross-cultural environment with the ability to collaborate with different personalities and work styles.
  • Belief that equity and social justice are important and driven to hear, reflect, and act on this belief.

 

YOU NEED TO HAVE: 

  • 4-6 years of related experience in a nonprofit development environment, corporate partnerships, project management, social impact, or a high level of transferable experience.
  • Fully digital literate, including Microsoft & Google products, and online meeting tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce and other databases is a plus.

 

COMPENSATION: 

This position offers an initial salary range of $65,000 – $70,000 along with robust benefits. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount. The role sits within Active Minds Level 3B salary band, and as such, has the potential to grow to $92,000 over time. FLSA Status: Exempt.
