Position Title: Program Associate, Chapters
Status: Full Time

Active Minds is seeking a thoughtful, passionate, and data driven Programs Associate, Chapters to manage programmatic and administrative components of Active Minds’ Chapter Network. Active Minds is working to effectively mobilize tens of thousands of students to respond to calls to action for mental health through its Chapter Network. The Programs Associate will play a critical role in managing all aspects of chapter registration and onboarding and management of chapter data within Salesforce. The position will also provide programmatic and logistics support to the Manager, Chapter Membership, in managing and providing training/technical assistance to the Chapter Network. There are limited travel expectations for this role. This position reports to the Manager, Chapter Membership.

Chapter Registration and Onboarding: Oversee chapter registration and onboarding. This includes effective registration practices in Salesforce and designing comprehensive onboarding materials that promote chapters’ understanding of best practices and resources. Provide follow-up to new chapters to further normalize best practices in chapter development and support new chapters with implementation. 

Salesforce Management: In alignment with the Chapters Team’s best practices in data management, assume primary ownership of managing chapter records within Salesforce on behalf of the Chapters Team. Maintain and track organized records of chapter-related contacts, project details and communication in the organization-wide CRM system, Salesforce. Develop and oversee a comprehensive

protocol for ensuring data integrity (i.e. regular data cleaning, spot-checking, pulling reports to identify and fix errors, etc.) and partner with the Salesforce Manage to provide team education and training. 

Chapter Engagement Support: Provide programmatic and logistics support for the Manager, Chapter Membership in managing the Chapter Network and providing data-driven technical assistance and training to the Network. Efforts may include overseeing Active Minds’ strategic use of Slack and texting strategies for communicating with chapters, collecting quarterly Chapter Reports and chapter rosters from the network, and listening for and elevating needs and opportunities to better support chapters to the Chapters Team. 

Additional Program Support: Provide support to other members of the Chapters Team, including the Manager, Chapter Mobilization (i.e. SAC/AMSA management); Manager, Chapter Partnerships (i.e. student-led activations on campuses across the country); and the Director of Chapters (i.e. overall chapter engagement/mobilization strategy), as needed. Efforts may include: 

  • Manage various administrative and logistics, such as tracking grant-related activities, partnerships, and expenditures, across a wide range of programs. 
  • Coordinate online trainings, webinars, and meetings across a wide range of programs and topics. Track components of grant deliverables to ensure timely completion. 
  • Review a wide array of written documents, including reports, white papers, award solicitations, etc. 

Dissemination: Draft blog posts, program summaries, key finding reports, synopses, etc. for a variety of audiences on a variety of platforms. 

Intern Management: Manage at least one paid part-time intern ensuring a positive professionally developmental experience. 

Departmental/Organization-wide: Participate in organization-wide miscellaneous duties as needed, including supporting the National Conference and participating on cross-department committees.



  • Interest in youth and young adult mental health and mental health programs and skills to develop deep content expertise
  • Experience with Microsoft and Google products and online meeting tools

This position offers a salary range of $50,000-$55,000 along with robust benefits. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount. The role sits within Active Minds Level 1 salary band, and as such, has the potential to grow to $65,000 over time. FLSA Status: Exempt.
