Active Minds' Student Mental Health Survey


Following our spring 2020 survey, we wanted to see the ways that COVID-19 has impacted students’ mental health six months later. We surveyed over 2,000 students during fall 2020 to better understand the continued toll of the pandemic on students.

Key Findings

Two thirds of students reported an increase in supporting others with their mental wellness

78% of students feel optimistic or hopeful about their school-related goals and future job prospects

56% of students responded that their daily level of physical activity has decreased or significantly decreased

89% of College Students Are Experiencing Stress or Anxiety as a result of COVID-19

1 in 4 students surveyed said that their depression significantly increased
