#HereForYou – Robert Morris University

We are thrilled to share the #HereForYou campaign put together by the Active Minds chapter at Robert Morris University. Read on to hear from the chapter’s leaders:

As part of Suicide Prevention Month, our chapter at Robert Morris University used the hashtag #HereForYou. Our former Chapter President, Joey Chen, and our Co Vice-President of Communication and Social Media, Trent Sampson, led this campaign on RMU’s campus. We wanted to take it a step further, we wanted to create a movement.

One of our chapter members, Adam Wollet, is the linebacker (#33) for the Robert Morris University football team. Adam and his teammates were the first to help us kick-off our campaign. Once that photo was posted, other athletic teams, Greek Life organizations, and different student groups on our campus also wanted to participate in this campaign. Not only did we have the chance to share our message with other organizations, but we built a community of support on our campus.

We Are #HereForYou

We continued our work with the #HereForYou campaign when the Send Silence Packing® display came to Robert Morris University on Thursday, September 27, 2018. We had Send Silence Packing® volunteers, Active Minds members, and different organizations take photos and videos with the sign. We even got Courtney Burke and Eric Golembiewski, the Send Silence Packing® tour coordinators, to take part in our campaign.

Check out this recap video of Send Silence Packing at Robert Morris University.

Our Chapter will continue the #HereForYou campaign throughout the year. The message of “I’m here for you” isn’t just for Suicide Prevention Month or Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health matters 365 days out of the year. We hope to get other Active Minds chapters and different mental health organizations behind the #HereForYou campaign as well.
